What is Medical Massage?

Medical massage is not a relaxation service. It's targeted, therapeutic bodywork designed to find the underlying cause of your pain and address it directly, not just give you an hour of relief that fades by Tuesday.

I don't just treat where it hurts. I work to understand why it hurts, then use advanced techniques to restore proper movement, release tension patterns, and support real, lasting change.

Who It's For

Medical Massage is a good fit if you:

  • Are recovering from an injury or surgery

  • Deal with chronic pain, tension headaches, or postural issues that keep coming back

  • Have a physically demanding job or lifestyle that takes a toll on your body

  • Want a results, not just relaxation

What Working with Me Looks Like

Root-Cause Focused:

Pain is rarely random. Whether you're dealing with chronic neck tension, low back pain, or headaches that won't quit, there's almost always a postural, muscular, or nervous system imbalance driving it. My approach starts with a clinical assessment so I actually understand what's going on before I put hands on you, then uses precise treatment to:

  • Identify the source of the pain, not just the location

  • Correct muscular imbalances that keep pulling your body out of alignment

  • Improve joint mobility and alignment and range of motion

  • Support nervous system regulation

  • Restore natural movement and function

What Results Can You Expect?

My goal is long-term results, not short-term relief. Clients typically experience:

  • Less pain and tension that actually stays reduced between sessions

  • Improved posture and alignment

  • Better range of motion

  • Fewer headaches, flare-ups, or injuries over time

  • Faster recovery from physical stress and strain

  • A clearer understanding of how your body holds tension and what to do about it

About Sheena

South Carolina #8393

I'm a Board Certified Medical Massage Therapist with 20+ years in practice, licensed in South Carolina (#8393), and trained at Spa Tech Institute in Westborough, MA. I spent several years as the Program Director for the Massage Therapy program at Spartanburg Community College, and I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Health Administration and Management.

My background is in working with first responders, veterans, and athletes, people whose bodies take a real beating and who need more than a standard massage to actually recover. My husband's military career gave me a front-row seat to what that kind of physical toll looks like long-term, and it shaped how I approach every client who comes in carrying that kind of wear.

I'm also a Certified Functional Bloodwork Specialist and Classical Homeopath in training, so if your pain picture is more complex than a straightforward muscular issue, I can help you look at the broader picture too.
