FAQS

Do You Accept Insurance?

Yes and No

Most insurance companies do not bill massage therapy like a doctors office visit. I accept HSA and FSA accounts (Health Savings and Flex Spending Accounts) -- as long as massage therapy is a benefit your insurance will cover. Best way to know -- call and ask them.

I accept clients with VA benefits -- with a referral from your VA primary care doctor --the VA will cover medical massage. Usually 12 visits at a time.

Some insurance companies will allow you to submit your receipt from my office and get a reimbursement, sometimes this is part of a "wellness plan". I do have an NPI number (located on your receipt from my office).

We accept cash, all major credit cards, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay and Cash App.

What is "Holistic Therapies"?

Sheena's approach combines traditional and modern therapies to address the root causes of health issues and support your body's natural healing processes.

Holistic therapies does not replace medical care and is not used to treat, diagnosis, or cure any illnesses or diseases.

Our therapies support health and healing through natural remedies. You know your body better than anyone else. Many of our clients often feel dismissed by doctors and come seeking alternate answers and guidance.

Sheena is a versatile holistic wellness practitioner, who is dedicated to empowering individuals to achieve optimal health through a customized and personalized approach. She offers a range of therapeutic services tailored to meet each client's unique needs. From medical massage specializing in upper body pain relief, to functional bloodwork analysis for deeper understanding of health markers, to classical homeopathy for addressing a variety of acute and chronic conditions. She helps clients navigate their health journey, whether through a single service or a combination of therapies.

The office also has red light therapy, infrared sauna, and halotherapy (salt booth) to aid in your holistic journey.

What is Classical Homeopathy?

Classical means we only choose one remedy at a time -- otherwise how do we know which one is working?

Homeopathy is a 200-year old system of medicine used worldwide, homeopathy involves a deep dive into your health history to understand your body's communication patterns. It uses potentized substances from nature, such as plants, animals, and minerals; that match your symptom picture. Homeopathy works on the principle "like cures like".

Examples:

1) In allopathic medicine they use medication for ADHD that speeds up their body to match their brain speed: to help the brain "feel slower" -- achieving a false sense of balance.

In homeopathy: we look for the substance in nature that gives the same pattern of ADHD that you display -- allowing for true balance to occur.

2) Another example we like to use is: what happens when you cut an onion? You cry, your nose runs, it burns. There is a homeopathic remedy that can help balance out the symptom pattern body is showing.

3) Homeopathy is personalized and customized -- we like to know your personal experience VS a diagnosis. Your version of headaches can be different from my version. We love adjectives, colors, smells, textures.

What is Functional Health?

Functional health is a client-centered approach that looks at the root cause of health issues, functional medicine is bio-individualized and customized.

We analyze tests such as bloodwork, hair analysis, and at-home inflammation tests to identify food sensitivities, inflammation, and other sources for your symptoms. From there we develop a plan with high quality supplements to target those underlying problems.

Ensuring our cells are functioning properly, as they are the building blocks of our health. Inflammation in cells can lead to issues like hormonal changes and lack of energy.

Arriving On Time

I understand that I must arrive 10-15 minutes early for my appointment in order to get the full session time I have scheduled.

Arriving early allows time for paperwork, talking with my therapist to create a session treatment plan, changing, and using the bathroom, if needed.

If I arrive on time, or late, I understand my massage has started without me, and the therapist can only give me whatever time remains of my appointment and I will pay the full session fee.

Communication

I understand that in order for me to receive the best massage therapy possible, I know that I have to communicate ANYTHING and everything, including my needs, preferences, requests, or feedback, at any time before, during, or after my massage.

I take it upon myself to communicate right away if there is anything distracting me or if I feel unwell or uncomfortable at any time during the session so that adjustments can be made.

I understand that my therapist wants my HONEST feedback - positive or negative - and doesn’t take offense to it.

Client Waiver

- Massage Therapy Informed Consent -

Here's what you need to know about working together:

What massage does: I'm here to help reduce stress, ease muscle tension, improve circulation, and get your energy flowing better. It's therapeutic bodywork, not medical treatment.

Communication is key: If anything hurts or feels uncomfortable during your session, tell me immediately so I can adjust pressure or technique. You know your body best, I need your feedback to help you properly.

What I can and can't do: I'm trained in massage therapy and bodywork, but I can't diagnose medical conditions, prescribe medications, or do spinal adjustments. If you need medical care, see your doctor.

Your health history matters: Please tell me about any medical conditions, injuries, or health changes before each session. I can't help you safely if I don't know what's going on with your body.

Professional boundaries: My work is 100% therapeutic and professional. Any inappropriate behavior means the session ends immediately and you still pay the full fee.

Health and safety: Massage involves close contact, so there's always some risk of illness transmission. We'll both do our best to stay healthy, but we can't eliminate all risk.

Your responsibility: By signing this, you're agreeing that you understand these points and won't hold me responsible for any discomfort or issues that come up during or after your session.

Cancellation Policy

I'm here to help you heal, and that means showing up fully for each other.

Rescheduling: Life happens, I get it. Kids get sick, work explodes, emergencies pop-up. Just give me 24 hours heads up when you can so I can offer your spot to someone else who needs it.

Same-day stuff: Seriously, if your kid is puking or you're in crisis, just text me. I'm not going to charge you for actual emergencies. I'm a human, not a billing machine.

First time: You'll go to my next available opening (usually 4-6 weeks out).
Happens again: You lose priority booking ability (other clients get first dibs on popular times).
Third time: We'll need to discuss whether this care model is working for your schedule.

If you just don't show: I'll check on you first to make sure you're okay. Everyone gets one free "oops I totally forgot" because life is chaotic.

First time: You'll go to my next available opening (usually 4-6 weeks out).

Happens Again? You can only grab last-minute cancellations when they pop up no more advance booking. I have to protect the time for people who consistently show up.

Third time: we'll need to discuss whether this care model is working for you.

Your session is designed for YOU: I can't transfer your appointment to someone else. My work requires understanding your specific health picture and that takes proper consultation time.
